OUR VISION & MISSION
"Our mission is to bring healthcare of international standards within the reach of every individual. We are committed
to the achievement and maintenance of excellence in education, research and healthcare for the benefit of humanity"
Dr. Prathap C. Reddy
Founder and Chairman
Apollo Hospitals Group
The Healthcare Giant with a Heart
Way back in the seventies, Dr. Reddy lost a young patient, who could not go to the West for a critical heart surgery because
of lack of money. It was then that he resolved to quit his successful practice and set up a world-class healthcare institution
in India.
A dream like this does not build a mere empire, it builds homes. And Apollo has been making a difference ever since to
millions of homes in the country. From urban India's corporate giants to remote villages, Apollo stands for the best healthcare
when you require it.
This mission has taken us across borders geographically and economically. Today, Apollo also strives to work with the
underprivileged in giving them access to what should be a birthright. Good medical care.
The Apollo group is much much more than Asia's Largest Network of Hospitals
1983 was not the beginning of just an ordinary hospital, or even just a hospital chain. It was a landmark year for the
healthcare sector in India. Dr. Reddy founded the first Apollo hospital, (Apollo Hospitals, Chennai), with the sole objective
of giving everyone in need an opportunity to receive the best medical care the world had to offer.
A seed sown in healthcare that would, over the next 2 decades, grow into a sprawling tree, covering hospitals, clinics,
pharmacies, telemedicine, project consultancy and operations management, medical BPO services, education and research.
Today, Apollo is the largest corporate entity in healthcare in India. It has won almost every accolade in the country
and quite a few outside it too. Its geographic boundaries spill over into centres of excellence in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh,
Ghana, Nigeria, Qatar and Kuwait.
Further initiatives include South Africa, Tanzania, Mauritius, Yemen, Oman, Bahrain, Vietnam and Thailand, among others.
